More and more people are engaging in online shopping because it is quite convenient for them to do so rather than going to a brick-and-mortar shop to do the same thing.
For example, one can use their smartphones to buy groceries and have the items shipped directly to their doorsteps without too much of a hassle at all.
Although you can buy pretty much anything you want online, there are some problems in certain situations. That is true when buying men’s watches, for example.
You see, unlike certain produce like Strawberries and grapes, you already know how they look like and how they should look like when you receive them. But, the same cannot be said for the items that you see online mainly because they are a league of their own and each watch is unique.
How will you know if that watch is the right one for you? It is conventional wisdom that one should buy a watch that is appropriate for the size of their wrist. Sure, you might have measured the dimensions of your wrist and have chosen the size which you think is right for you, only to find out that it is actually not the right fit for your wrist.
Well, in today’s article, I will go over some tips to help you know if a watch is the right one for you.
The case thickness of the watch is actually often overlooked but one that is practical in its use. Back in the day, luxury watches would typically have a smaller case simply because it is more elegant to look at and people actually prefer smaller cases back then.
However, thicker cases are all the rage nowadays as more and more people are opting for those that have a pretty thick casing.
Although it is not required to house the watch’s entire mechanism, people opt for oversized cases these days. However, you will still have to match it with your style.
For instance, let’s say that you are buying a watch that has a thicker casing and you’re going to wear it with your formal attire, that may not look good from an aesthetic standpoint.
It would be more appropriate to buy a dress watch as it looks subtle and its case has just the right thickness.
Choosing the right diameter for your watch is more of a preference thing, but if you want to play it safe, you want to measure your wrist so that you can get the appropriate size.
Typically, women’s watches range from 26-35mm in diameter. Men typically have much larger wrists and, in turn, would require at least a watch that has 37mm-45mm diameter.
Although this used to be the case back then, more and more people are actually wearing oversized watches or those that do not necessarily fit on their wrist perfectly, but would still look good on them regardless.
Another thing to consider is the watch’s strap. Think about the material and its measurement. Ideally, women’s straps measure between 6.75-7 inches and men’s would often be measured between 7-8 inches.
Aside from that, you also want to consider the material. Stainless steel is often great for formal occasions, while a rubber strap is more appropriate for more active individuals.
